Linkwheels | Step by Step Instructions

Linkwheels | Step by Step Instructions | Part 1

Linkwheels are a very effective method to boost your website ranking in the search engines and even to dominate the top ten search engine positions.  They are something that few marketers use because they can be either costly or time consuming to set up.  This guide has been written to help you create linkwheels much easier and quicker than before.

A linkwheel is an interconnected “wheel” of websites (at least 8 ) which have been build to push your main website higher in the search engine rankings. They link to each other and to your central site to help the central money site rank better.

Whilst they are very effective in what they do they can be time consuming to create by hand simple because of the number of sites involved and how much you need to do to create each spoke site. But they are really worse the time to create them, especially if you concentrate on one keyword per linkwheel you can get great amounts of natural search engine traffic!

There is software than can automate this for you but it is notoriously unreliable due to the complexity of the software and the task it has to perform.
However, linkwheels can really boost your money site up the search engines and so it is a useful component of any traffic generation strategy.

How to Build A Linkwheel?

It´s not hard to build a link-wheel, but before you can start posting your content and link it together you need content, here you got several options you can choose :

  1. Unique Content : By writing the articles on your own you can be sure to have unique and high quality content to create your link-wheels. This is by far the best but also the most time consuming source for your content, but you can outsource this part easily.
  2. Rewritten PLR : By rewriting PLR articles you can create nearly unique articles without the need to do any kind of research, so it could be a good alternative to write the articles on your own. Surely, you can post the original PLR articles too, but this will bring you not the results you are targeting and may even course the deletion of parts of your link-wheel!

After you got your content (about 350 – 600 words is good) you need to rewrite it again for the different spokes of your link wheel, as alternative I recommend you can spin your article massively (at least the pharagraphs and sentences, not just single words) and use an article spinner to generate many different versions of your article. Now post your content to all of the following services and link each article to the article you posted before.

  • Squidoo : Post your article to Squidoo, be sure to add some more content to build a quality lens. You can easily add Videos from YouTube, products from Ebay or Amazon and a lot more to make look your lens nice. I really recommend to invest a bit time into your Lens creation, it really pays over time!
  • Blogger : Open a Blog at Blogger! Choose a design you like and post your article. Be sure to include a link to your Squidoo Lens, with your main keyword as anchor text, and link back to your main website. You can also plug in your RSS feed into your Blogs sidebar, as well as add adsens to your Blog! Blogger allows you to embeed an autoresponder form in your sidebar, so if you build your list (and you should do) you can add your Newsletter Sign Up Form to your Blog too!
  • Blog.com : Create a blog at Blog.com and post your article, linking back to your website and your Blogger article, both with your main keywords as anchor text! Be sure to change the Blog details (Description, Keywords and so on) and to delete the “Hello World” post. Choose a design and do what you want with your sidebar (RSS feed?).
  • Livejournal : Sign up at Livejournal.com and post your Content, including a link to your main website and your posted Blog.com article. Choose a design and set up your journal so that it looks good and fits your needs!
  • Wordpress : Create a Blog at Wordpress.com and post your content, containing a link to your website and your Livejournal article. Choose a design, edid your Blogs meta data (keywords, titel, description…) and configure your sidebar. Do not forget to delete the Hello world post!
  • Tumblr : Sign up at tumblr.com and post your article, linking to your main website and your article posted on your Wordpress blog. Choose a design and edit your details, meta info and so on!
  • Weebly : Open up a free account at Weebly.com and post your content, use the Blog Modul to build your website, so you got an RSS feed you can promote later! Be sure to link to your Tumblr article and your Main website!
  • vox.com : Create a Blog at Vox.com and post your article wit a link back to your website and your Weebly Article. Change the design and sidebar of your Blog.
  • Go back to Squidoo and add a link to your article posted at Vox.com to close the Linkwheel.

After your content is posted, it´s time to inform the Search engines about your newly created sites, go to www.pingler.com and ping each of your websites.

In order to get the most out of your linkwheel, its important to add some fresh content from time to time as well as build a few backlinks for each of your linkwheel instances!
